I have always loved the Madeline series of books by Ludwig Bemelmans. So on Saturday I visited the historic Corbit-Sharp House in Odessa, Delaware, which was transformed into Madeline’s Christmas’ “old house in Paris that was covered with vines.” Each room was decorated as it might have been on Christmas Eve when Miss Clavel and all the girls, except Madeline, were sick.
If you are a fan of Madeline, this is a nice place to see. And there are many other activities taking place in this quaint, historic area.
Also on display, beginning December 14, is a festive display of Christmas trees decorated to showcase books and works of children’s literature.
